This institution was established in 1972 and was known as J.B.T. school. Earlier, this institution would run in Faridkot, and in 1972 it was brought to Budhlada. In the lack of having its own building, this institution was run in I.T.I. Budhlada’s building. For the first time, J.B.T. 2 year course was started in this institution. By that time, thousands of pupils have accomplished their training program from this institution and had been serving in numerous schools. According to National Education Policy 1986, this institution was given the title of DIET, and J.B.T.’s name changed to E.T.T. In August 2011, this institution was situated in its own new building in Contemporary Ahmedpur (Mansa). Gram panchayat donated 5 acres of Panchayati land for this institution. In recent years “E.T.T.” name has been changed to D.El.Ed. Nowadays, two separate batches of D.El.Ed. 2020-22 and 2021-23 are running, having 130 students. Besides Pre-Service Training, this institute organizes an In-Service Training program as well. This institution has been playing a vital role in various educational campaigns, such as Smagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Parho Punjab Parhao Punjab, Mission Shat Pratishat, and Mission Smart School. Its campus is having lush green surrounding situated in the lap of greenery. In the dynamic leadership of the current principal Dr. Buta Singh Sekhon, this institution is stepping ahead leaps and bounds towards its dream of transforming DIET Ahmedpur into a SMART DIET of Punjab.
